Karlyn Semlow, Director
Human Resources and Labor Relations
I began my career with Macomb County in 2000, as a Human Resources Coordinator, overseeing the County's recruitment and selection operations. In 2007, I joined the Human Resources Department's Labor Relations team assisting with labor and employee relations activities and contract negotiations. I was promoted to a Service Director in March 2011, where I enjoy the opportunity to work as a strategic partner with Macomb County’s department leaders, while leading a full service delivery team dedicated to servicing our employees. Before joining Macomb County, I worked as a Human Resources professional in the market research and long-term care industries. I am proud to work for Macomb County and I value the opportunity to partner with other dedicated public servants, and make a difference in my community.

Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Development from Oakland University
Master Degree in Public Administration from Oakland University
