Wendy S. Smith, Team Coordinator
Human Resources and Labor Relations
I began my career with the County in April 2013 as a Typist Clerk for the Human Resources and Labor Relations Department. In September 2013, I was promoted to Team Coordinator. I coordinate labor and employee relations meetings, maintain confidential files for sensitive matters such as discipline or employee assistance program referrals and process unemployment claims. Prior to joining the County, I worked in the private sector for manufacturing based companies and I found manufacturing and assembly line work wasn’t for me, so I left that field and went back to school. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in 2013, and earned my Master’s degree in 2017. The County’s Human Resources and Labor Relations Department provides a varied and challenging opportunity to interact and engage with talented people from many different backgrounds and experiences. I enjoy working in the public sector and appreciate the opportunity to serve our employees as well as the residents of Macomb County.
