National Park Virtual Tour
Have you ever wanted to travel to a different National Park without leaving your living room? Have you ever wondered what it might be like to work for the National Park Service? Join Alger County 4-H (part of Michigan 4-H) for a Virtual Parks tour. We will visit 6 National Parks--like Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, and more--and meet with a ranger who works there. We will talk about law enforcement, interpretation, being a fire ranger, being a biologist, and more.
Life of the Straits 2020 - A Virtual Program- July 30

Overview: This program is specifically developed for 8-12 year olds in mind, but is open to whole families. The program will take place on Zoom on Thursday evenings throughout much of July and August. Each program will be a short series of fun-filled info sessions on amazing features of the Straits of Mackinac like the Mackinac Bridge, local nature preserves and more. At the end of the info sessions there will be interviews and interactive Q&As with local area experts. Each session will end with a challenge for families to go out and complete over the course of the week.

You will be emailed a link to access a Zoom webinar. You will need internet access and a desktop or laptop with a webcam and microphone, or a smartphone with the Zoom app to access the webinar. Each webinar will start out with cameras and microphones turned off, but at the end during the Q&A all participants will have their cameras and microphones activated to allow interaction. Fishful Thinking: Project Fish
Do you love fishing? Ever wonder what kind of fish we have in Michigan? Ever have issues tying the best knot for your lines? Ever wanted to make a pop can caster rod? Turn Your Passions into Profits Entrepreneurship Camp
Find the entrepreneur in you by attending this free virtual camp with interactive activities that will introduce you to the 4-H entrepreneurship project. Learn about the entrepreneur in you and how to develop your own business ideas. 4-H Riddle Scavenger Hunt GooseChase Game
Do you love games? If Laffy Taffy riddles are your favorite, then MSU Extension's 4-H Riddle Scavenger Hunt GooseChase Game is right up your alley. This game will take place within the GooseChase App. From August 10-21, 2020, youth will receive up to three riddle missions daily that they need to solve. This program is open to all Michigan 4-H and non 4-H youth. Please note that the GooseChase platform is designed for ages 13+ and parent permission is needed to participate. Any youth over 13 can download the GooseChase app to their phone or tablet; younger participants or youth without a phone or tablet can partner with an older sibling or parent/guardian to play as a team.
